First Nations protesters stopped workers from entering a housing development in southern Ontario in February of 2006, which sparked a series of conflicts known as the “Caledonia Crisis.” This protest brought the issue of land claims to the forefront and Devries encourages non-Aboriginal Canadians to change their perspective and emend their assumptions in Con?ict in Caledonia: Aboriginal Land Rights and the Rule of Law (UBC Press 2012).
