Historic vessels from throughout Canada included in Kenneth John Haycock's The History of the RCMP Marine Services (Pacific Marine $59.95), edited by Peter Vassilopoulos, range from the early days of the Northwest Mounted Police to present-day RCMP operations including the Coast Guard and the Navy in peace times and during war. A special feature is coverage of the St Roch II (Nadon) 'Voyage of Rediscovery' in 2000 that circumnavigated North America. In 2000, Inspector Ken Burton was the Captain and NCO in charge of the operation to recreate the historic voyages of the original St. Roch. The voyage covered over 24,000 nautical miles and took 169 days to complete. 978-0-919317-47-5
