Rob Morris moved to BC in 1974 as a freelance writer. He lives in Courtenay, and edits Western Mariner: The Magazine of the Coast. He is known for his Dockwalk features series: well-informed tours of BC's working waterfronts.

In 1993, he wrote Coasters: The Uchuck III, Lady Rose, Frances Barkley, and Tyee Princess (Horsdal & Schubart 1993)
Coasters looked at four BC vessels that continued the tradition of delivering passengers and goods to settlements along the coast.
