Kerry Coast is a former Lillooet newspaper publisher who has written The Colonial Present, a historical look at BC history as a long-running First Nations land grab by British and Canadian governments. This book documents how the colonizer has created a new mythology to dehumanize the original peoples of British Columbia and strip them of their rights even in present day. Coast aims to reveal that the non-native understanding of these peoples has been corrupted and turned apathetic by numerous streams of information which leads to the unchecked robbery of the Aboriginal peoples' lands and resources.
