Glenda Leznoff, author of Heartache and Other Natural Shocks, was awarded the Jonathan & Heather Berkowitz Prize (Children & Youth) at the 2016 Western Canada Jewish Book Awards.

Heartache and Other Natural Shocks is the story of two teenage girls in close competition for a role in their school's production of Hamlet. Deception and betrayal follow close behind as they both try to win the affections of local bad boy and leading man, Ian Slater.

Montreal-born Glenda Leznoff has made Vancouver her home. She teaches Creative Writing at Douglas College, while also working as a painter and writer.
