A recipient of a fellowship from The Summer Literary Seminars and a Canada Council grant, Peter Gajdics wrote his first book, The Inheritance of Shame: A Memoir (Brown Paper Press 2017) detailing six years he spent in a bizarre form of conversion therapy that attempted a "cure" for his homosexuality. He lives in Vancouver when not in his "home away from home" Budapest, Hungary.
