B. Schrader, author of the novel Perseverance (Sicamous, B.C.: Northern Lights Publishing, 2003; 0-9730863-0-0), was born in Germany in 1963. She immigrated to Canada at age 18. Unable to join the RCMP due to her height, she learned to deal with horses. She raises horses and competes in Non Pro Reining, Cattle Penning, Endurance Riding and other equestrian sports. Her novel is about the perseverance of a character named Barney Cooper after his brother is killed.
