BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS:
Anderson became a senior Lieutenant in the Sea Cadets after joining in 1973. She commanded two cadet units, worked on staff at HMCS Quadra and has been an escort officer on the US East Exchange. She spent two years as the editor of her college newspaper and briefly worked as a freelancer. She self-published her first book in 1997 and realized there was little information on how to self-publish in Canada. Self Publishing in Canada: A complete guide to designing, printing and selling your book (Half-acre Publishing, 2004), is based on personal experience and research, which included taking courses through SFU's publishing program. She has served on the board of directors of WAVE Publishing Co-operative on Vancouver Island and chaired the Cowichan chapter. She conducts workshops on self-publishing and book marketing. She has edited an alumni newsletter and contributed to a co-op newsletter.
