Born on Prince Edward Island in 1954, James Dunn came to Vancouver in 1982 where he won the 10th annual 3-Day novel writing contest with Starting Small (Arsenal Pulp, 1988), about Blind Banana Daiquiri, a stuggling guitarist, accused of schizophrenia, who grew up in the Land of the Smalls. He formerly edited Impulse and Phoenix Rising.
