Born July 26, 1963 in Kelowna, B.C., Bazzana holds a Ph.D. in Music History and Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. His book, Glenn Gould: The Performer In The Work (Oxford University Press, 1997) is a study of Gould and his recorded performances. Bazzana's book Lost Genius: The Story of a Forgotten Musical Maverick (M&S) was a finalist for the 2008 Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction. Bazzana holds a Ph.D. in music history from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also the author of Wondrous Strange: The Life and Art of Glenn Gould (2003), which won the Toronto Book Award and an ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award and has been published in six languages. He lives in Brentwood Bay, B.C.
