Beguin took nurse's training in London during the Second World War and subsequently did public health work in England, Uganda, Australia and Canada. She immigrated to Canada in 1961, with her Swiss husband Pierre, and lived in the Cariboo ranching country. She wrote Once Upon A Ranch (1993), Yet Softly Tread the Leaves (1981) and Great Religions of Our Time (1986).
