"Jane Huber, daughter of a Swedish boatbuilder, was born on Vancouver Island and remains a true west coaster. She started painting seriously at the age of twelve, and is best known for her lush, beautifully detailed watercolour paintings, which have been shown in Powell River, other west coast communities, Toronto and Vancouver. The Tantalus Gallery in Powell River mounted a ten-year retrospective of her work in May 1991. For the past eleven years, Huber has taught art classes through the Adult Education department at Malaspina College in Powell River." [Harbour Publishing catalogue, 2003]
