Frank A. Urefe was born in West Africa and left his homeland of Nigeria in 1992 after securing an athletic scholarship to pursue a course of study in Canada and the United States. He is the oldest of seven children, which in the African tradition meant taking financial responsibility for the family. In pursuit of this, success in the sports world became very important to the 6 ft. 7 inches tall athlete. Retired from active professional sports and currently a full-time sports agent advisor, his struggle and desire to succeed are documented in "How to Achieve Your Sports Dreams (Days Springs Publishing $25 CAD).

During his athletic career, he was a member of the squad that won the BCCAA championship as well as the silver medal at the CCAA championship in 1994. In Seminole State College, he received the outstanding player's award and has worked in movie set alongside professional basketball players such as retired NBA star Clyde Drexler and Muggsy Bogues. Urefe has traveled extensively to play professional sports in different countries including Germany, Taiwan, Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, Mexico, UK and Czech Republic.

Now a Canadian Citizen, father of two boys and living in Vancouver, Urefe's goals are to inspire young athletes and offer practical information on securing an athletic scholarship or signing professional contract. He is available for speaking engagements, appearance in sporting events and autographing.
