Americans Mark Dugan and John Boessenecker, both authorities on western outlaw history, co-wrote a biography of Ezra Allen 'Bill' Miner, The Grey Fox (University of Oklahoma Press, 1992) which revealed B.C.'s so-called 'gentleman bandit' -- charmingly portrayed in the Philip Borsos movie by Richard Farnsworth and credited with originating use of the phrase "hands up"; during robberies -- was a sodomist and a pedophile.
