The Pentecostal preacher and television evangelist served two terms on Vancouver City Council between 1977 annd 1980. As a Christian talk-show host, she was heard on Encounter and Sunday Line CJOR Vancouver (1971-88) and on Sunday Line for KVOS-TV in Bellingham. She also had a long-running daily broadcast on KARI Radio in Blaine, starting in 1985. Her autobiography is Converted in the Country: The Life Story of Bernice Gerard as Told by Herself (Jacksonville, McColl-Gerard Publications, 1956)
