Born in 1950 in Toronto, Frolick was as a defense lawyer in Toronto prior to moving to Terrace, B.C. in 1982. There he worked as a prosecutor with the Attorney General's Office. Descent into Madness: The Diary of a Killer (Hancock House, 1993) is his first non-fiction book. He also travelled through South American jungles with Chuck Fipke, prospecting for gold and other minerals, in order to write Fire Into Ice: Charles Fipke & the Great Diamond Hunt (Raincoast, 1999). Frolick studied Buddhism at St. Michael's College, University of Toronto and graduated from University of Windsor law school. He lives in the Okanagan.
