Founding editor of Christian Info News, Lloyd Mackey of Surrey first met former Alberta premier Ernest Manning in 1979. When Manning Sr. died in 1996, Mackey began work on Like Father, Like Son (ECW 1997 $16.95), his study of Preston Manning and his father which examines the influence of evangelicalism on the Mannings and the role of religion in Canadian politics. Mackey was director of The Institute of Christian Newspapering. He also taught journalism at Trinity Western University in Langley. As a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Surrey he wrote These Evangelical Churches of Ours (Wood Lake Books, 1995).
