Marlene Hunter of West Vancouver, a family physician for more than 20 years, commenced her professional life with a three-year stint in a rural hospital in Kenya. As an active and enthusiastic member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and past president of the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis (B.C. Division) she developed a particular interest in multiple personality and dissociative disorders. She authored Psych Yourself In: Hypnosis, Health and Daydreams for Discovery: A Manual For Hypnotherapists (1988). Her works in-progress include a book on hypnosis and the Christian ethic.
