Paul Kent, a family practitioner, was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1945. He came to Vancouver in 1970 and was a regular contributor to CBC-TV's Doctor, Doctor program for three seasons. He has written The Crib (1987), a mass market paperback thriller about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and a second medical thriller, The Third Secret (1992). The Crib is about an ancient family crib made of 2,000-year old Lebanese cedar which has (inexplicably) caused the deaths of 29 infants.
