With Mary Macaree, David Macaree was the co-author of 103 Hikes in Southwestern B.C., a classic regional title that has reputedly sold more than 100,000 copies since 1973. They also wrote 109 Walks in B.C.'s Lower Mainland (D&M 1980), also reprinted. Both were long-time members of the British Columbia Mountaineering Club.
