In 1984, Dave Allen of Richmond published Robert F. Sheward's reminiscences of teaching school in Lillooet for two years in the early 1940s. Ostensibly a novel, When I Taught School In Lillooet (undated) appears to be a self-published memoir about "that time when the scare of war with Japan had created a tension which terrorized that small inland village." It provides photos of people who lived in the Lillooet region in the early 1940s.
