New Brunswicker Keith Scott, aka 'The Bear Man', was born on April 17, 1936. After a brief basketball career, he lectured at Jasper Park Lodge and became increasingly known as an expert on bears. He has extensively observed and written about bears in Alaska, B.C. and Alberta, publishing numerous bear-related titles as well as a memoir called I Should Have Made The Globetrotters. Most of his outdoors titles contain references to British Columbia visits such as The Great Bears of Hyder, Alaska & Stewart, B.C. (Hancock 2001) and The Magnificent Bears of North America... And Where to Find Them (Hancock 2001).
