BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Throughout the 1970s Chris traveled. In 1980 he discovered not only that teaching English could finance a year in Japan but also that he had liked both. Subsequently, he has taught in China, Thailand and Vietnam. While teaching ESL at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo, B.C. for too many years, he developed and now coordinates the TEFL Certificate Program, which prepares native speakers of English, from left-handed saxophonists from Winnipeg to university graduates overwhelmed with student debt to the soon-to-retire seeking more than an endless round of golf, for the adventure of living and working in a foreign culture and being paid to do so.
