Home
Born in 1930 and raised on the B.C. coast, W. James Sirois worked for most of his life in the United States, but has returned to his beloved Dean Channel where he spends his summers in a log cabin at Kimsquit, flat land bordering the mouth of the Dean River.
His sixth book, "Searching for a Seaport" is about the 1870s' search for a suitable Canadian Pacific Railway western terminus, somewhere on the coast of British Columbia. Over a nine-year period as the CPR explorer surveyors pursued many railway routes across the province, eleven possible routes with seaport options had been identified, but only three met the necessary qualifications for final consideration.
