Larry and Maggie Owen raised their two daughters in the remote areas of Manson Creek and Germansen Landing, north of Fort St. James in northern B.C., and pioneered the development of jade mining at their Ogden Jade Site near Mt. Ogden in the 1960s and 1970s. Magaret Owen moved 140 miles south to Fort St. John and wrote her memoir of their adventures.
