Having written The Citizen's Handbook: A Guide to Building Community in Vancouver in 1995, Charles Dobson of the Emily Carr Institute has prepared a how-to guide to mobilizing activists, The Troublemaker's Teaparty (New Society, $23.95). It's about how to knock on doors, win friends and influence people--and keep spirits from flagging when the going gets rough. Dobson is the founder of Better Notice, providing 'media training' for activist groups, and he has contributed ad parodies for Adbusters magazine.
