Hemingway has written and produced plays; written for newspapers; acted in theatre; designed costumes and sets; read for CBC radio and acted in movies. She is also a fabric artist. She has mounted 14 cultural events, including the Chemainus Literary Festival with featured speaker Dan Poynter in 2003. She has served on the board of the Greater Victoria Art Gallery and was the founder/president of The Vancouver Island Contemporary Arts Society.
