A founding member of the Vancouver Industrial Writers Union, former librarian David R. Conn is a freelance writer and reviewer on many topics. Born in 1950, David R. Conn came to Vancouver in 1970. He worked in coastal shipbuilding, steel fabrication and energy conservation before making a career in libraries. He has published two poetry chapbooks about shipbuilding and written for BC BookWorld, Business in Surrey, Canadian Encyclopedia, Cottage, Encyclopedia of British Columbia, Georgia Straight, Innovation, Library Journal, Quill & Quire, Raincoast Chronicles, Small Farm Canada and Western Mariner.
