Lakshmi Gill was born in the Philippines. Her parents were Indian/Spanish-Filipina. She arrived in Vancouver in 1964 for her MA after studies in the United States. She has taught English at Notre Dame University of Nelson and Mt. Allison University, and ESL at the University of Victoria and UBC's English Language Institute. She has published several works of poetry and a novel, The Third Infinitive.
