Diana Hartog of New Denver moved to Canada from California in 1971. Polite to Bees: A Bestiary (Coach House Books, 1992) was nominated for the Livesay Poetry Prize; and Candy From Strangers (Coach House Books, 1986) received it. Her short fiction has been shortlisted for the Journey Prize and she won second prize (poetry) in the CBC literary competition.
