Active in the Cariboo Tribal Council, Agnes Jack of the Shuswap First Nation edited testimonials from 32 individuals about their experiences within the Kamloops Indian Residential School that operated from 1893 to 1979. The recollections in Behind Closed Doors: Stories from the Kamloops Indian Residential School (Theytus 2001) were compiled by the Secwepemc Cultural Education Society as part of a community healing project.
