Doug Setter has a Bachelor of Human Ecology from the University of Manitoba. He has had articles and stories published in Outdoor Canada, CBC radio, North American Survival Guide and Chicken Soup for the Canadian Soul. As a crime prevention columnist in Vancouver, a former UN peacekeeper in Yugoslavia and a former self- defence martial artist in New Westminster, Setter self-published One Less Victim: A Personal Guide to Victim Prevention (Trafford, 2004, $17.99). Much of the research was done in Winnipeg.
