BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS:

Rory Glennie has been fly-fishing and designing/tying flies for most of his life. His first batch of hand-tied flies was sold in 1965. He has been a professional Saltwater and Freshwater Fly Fishing Guide, (B.C. and Costa Rica), and he started active guiding in 1970 (Gold River - Nootka Sound area).

Main B.C. guiding territories include; Campbell River to Qualicum Beach, Clayoquot Sound, Gold River and area. ('79 - present).
Owner/operator of pleasure/fishing craft since 1979.
Canadian Coast Guard approved and licensed boat operator.
Trained as a Fisheries Field Technician (T1) through U.B.C. 1985.
Supervised the "Coho Interception Study" a research project of U.B.C. ('85 - '90).
Conducted stream surveys and snorkel counts of steelhead and sea-run Cutthroat trout for the Ministry of Environment Fisheries Branch ('85 - '90).
Two terms as President of the Steelhead Society of B.C. ('88, '89).
Eight years as Chairman of the Comox Valley Branch S.S.B.C. ('85 - '93)
Recipient (SSBC) of the D.F.O. National Recreational Fisheries Award (1992)
A member of Fly Fishing Team Canada representing the nation at two World Fly Fishing Championships ('90, '97).
