He is the principal editor of Wordsworth's Late Poems, 1820-1850, and co-ordinating editor on a volume of Wordsworth's Sonnet Sequences and Itinerary poems, 1820-1850 (1992). He and Carol Landon edited Wordsworth's Early Poems and Fragments, 1785-1797 (1997), which features thirteen notebooks in Wordsworth's hand-writing.
With Declan Kiely, Curtis co-wrote "On Baile's Strand: Manuscript Materials by W.B. Yeats" (Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, 2014).
An SFU English professor, Curtis won a $155,000 U.S. grant to continue his studies of the English poet laureate.
