As a member of the second generation of the "Vancouver School" of conceptual photo-based artists, Evan Lee premiered a retrospective of photographs at the Presentation House Gallery in January of 2006. Curated by Bill Jeffries, the exhibit entitled Captures: Selected Works 1988 to 2006 was accompanied by a 62-page catalogue of the same name that includes texts by Christopher Brayshaw, Peter Culley, Jeff Wall and William Wood. Evan Lee was born in Vancouver in 1975 and received his MFA from UBC in 2000. He has taught at the Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design.
