Born in 1964, Penticton Indian Band member Denise Lecoy received her nursing diploma in 1993 and as the provincial coordinator for the BC Ministry of Health Service's Aboriginal Tobacco Strategy "Honouring our Health," wrote the text for Looking After Me (Theytus, 2006), for ages three to five, illustrated by Marie-Micheline Hamelin who trained at the En'owkin Centre in Penticton.
