Durga's Embrace: A Disciple's Diary (Timeless Books, 2006) is the first published work of eighty-two year old B.C. resident Swami Durgananda.

Born in 1924, Margaret White, as a Philadelphia housewife and mother of three children, met German-born Swami Sivananda Radha for the first time in 1967. After gaining a Fine Arts degree and a Master's of Education, White moved to the Yasodhara Ashram in the Kootenay region of British Columbia in 1981. Eight years later she became known as Swami Durgananda. She directed a Radha Centre in Victoria for four years and served as an intimate caregiver for her guru until Radha's death in 1995. Journal excerpts regarding her association with the spiritual leader have been published as In Durga's Embrace: A Disciple's Diary (Timeless Books 2006 $22.95). Durgananda is vice-president of the Yasodhara Ashram, where she teaches Hatha and Dream yoga. 1-932018-12-3
