Although most widely known as the host of the CBC Radio program Ideas for many years out of Toronto, Lister Sinclair, the actor, mathematician, critic, birder and musicologist, Lister Sinclair began his public life as a writer for the Ubyssey newspaper at the University of British Columbia with Pierre Berton. He co-wrote The Art of Norval Morrisseau, and produced other books and audio cassettes. Born in Bombay on January 9, 1921, he died in hospital in Toronto on October 15, 2006.
