Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Ken Wotherspoon of Hope, B.C., is a retired United Church minister who served pastorates in Saskatoon and Vancouver. Also a Vancouver police chaplain for twenty years, he is the author of The Caretakers, described as a novel, and a memoir, Snakes in the Wild Oats (Vantage, 2009), which draws largely on his own experiences as a boy in the prairies near the end of World War II.
