Saskatchewan-born Beth Rowles Scott became the first principal of a secondary school in British Columbia. At age 63, having retired, she met the love of her life and they formed ACCES, a literacy program for impoverished Kenyan children. The organization has given more than 1,100 scholarships to university/college students and established ten primary schools.
